The Glaring of Cats

My second novel, The Glaring of Cats is a humorous, action/adventure set in the fantasy world of Merth. Though it is aimed at young adults and adults, it is still approachable enough for children and contains no overt sex and only mild language. Released in April of 2018.
Glaring is set in the same world as my first novel, Art the Wanderer and features cameos by several characters from the first book. In Glaring, Miao, a young woman from Whu travels to Locklarn to fulfill an unexplained duty. At the same time, an evil entity has made its presence known in the roughest section of Locklarn, the Alley and has begun organizing the gangs. The Guards of River Station begin to investigate the goings-on in the Alley and a wide array of characters is introduced. In due time, Miao arrives and it is revealed that she was sent there to stop the evil entity. Despite some initial setbacks, Miao and the Guards team-up to defeat the entity, a task neither side could have done on their own.
At it's core, Glaring is about family and how that's defined. Each disparate group (or family) has its own ways of doing things and its own prejudices and assumptions. On the one side are Miao and the Guards, who come to embrace each other and use their combined strength for their common good. On the other side, the evil entity and (some) of the gangs reject real cooperation and force their own agendas on others with sheer strength. The bad guys fail in the end because they relied on their own strength and ultimately cannot stand alone against the combined forces of the good guys.
